Snowy days of winter December 2012

For the first time in a long time, we actually had a white Christmas that lasted more than a day.  The day after Christmas we decided to take the girls sledding over at the school by our house.  We remembered a little hill there that we thought would work.  When we got there we realized it was much smaller than I remembered.  Oh well.  We played a bit anyway and the girls liked being pulled in the sled and filling it with snow while we went.

The sled managed to get heavier and heavier as we went.  Guess it could have been the snow they kept putting in over themselves.
Madolyn of course wanted a turn pulling Avery as well.
That's a pretty good live action shot.  Can you find the snowball I just threw?
The girls are preparing some snowballs to throw back.

Talk about a tangled mess.  This is what it looks like when the sled tips over.
 Smiles all around though.
December 15th was our first real snow so I took the girls out and built a snowman in the front yard with them.  It was super wet snow so it stuck together well.

Avery even liked sampling the local snowman just to make sure it was just right.
We caught one of Avery taking a snowflake to the eye.
Madolyn built her own little snowman while Avery kept busy.

We then went to the backyard to build a snow slide.
