Pool time too!

We found our swimming pool and here are some pics of Madolyn playing in the pool.

Sprinkler time

Dawn is really good about spending time playing with Madolyn during Avery's afternoon nap. During the summer we set up our little swimming pool, but we couldn't find it so Dawn set up the sprinkler instead. Madolyn had a great time running through it and trying to spoon it into her bucket. She loves playing outside especially when there is water involved.

4th of July!

Dawn's family was going to come down to Kristin's for a fourth of July party, but they got sick and decided to stay home. That didn't deter us though! We are always up for a good party. We headed down on Sunday and had a little bbq for dinner, and then on Monday found a park close to her house to go play at. We had a really nice time. It is always nice to think about the freedoms we enjoy and to spend time with family. Thanks for the fun time Aunt Tistin! (Kristin)

Look at those long eyelashes. Don't be fooled by the lack of hair and her light skin, she is definately Dawn's baby!

Madolyn always sees her Daddy wearing his hat backwards so she is pretty sure that is the only way to wear a hat.

She had a great time climbing all over the playground. She got really brave and would climb all the way to the top and slide down the slide all by herself, as long as Daddy caught her at the bottom.

Both our girls really enjoyed the swings.

Swim time!

On the 3rd of July, Dawn and I decided to take our little ones swimming. At the Lehi Rec Center, they have a really nice kiddie pool that is large and shallow for the little ones to swim in. We found one of Madolyn's old swimsuits for Avery to use, tried it on at home, and then promptly forgot it as we got in the car to go. That is why Avery is in a onesie instead of a swimming suit. She didn't seem to mind. :)

Father's Day 2010

For Father's Day we went up to Kristin's house up in Wood's Cross because Mason and Jaydean were down visiting. My wifey was so good to me and got me a one hour massage and the book "The Other Side of Heaven". It's good being a Daddy!

Ragnarly!

For the past few years I have participated in the Ragnar Relay with my work, Nature's Sunshine. Our CEO and our President of US Sales put me in charge of putting a team together and getting some marketing materials put together for it. We were pretty set up until a month or so before we ran. We had three co-workers get hurt and have to drop out, and then we had two others have achilles tendon problems but ran anyway. I pulled my hamstring playing basketball a few months before the race and due to that had it caused some stress on my IT band in my right knee. Due to that I went in and got a cortizone shot a few weeks before the race and felt really good going into it.

My first leg was 3.9 miles with the first 3.2 miles being uphill. My next leg was 5.5 next to Rockport Reservoir. My last leg was only supposed to be 5.5 miles as well, but we were notified that due to an unplanned obstacle they would be adding an extra 1.5 miles to my leg. I wasn't too thrilled with that, but what could I do?

Overall we finished 51st out of 1100 teams. Not too bad, huh? Next year we are hoping to improve on that with everyone staying healthy.

My first two legs were pretty much uphill as you can see here with me running my second leg. We had a special hi-speed camera to take pictures so I wouldn't look blurry while getting my run on, if you know what I mean...

Overall we finished in about 27 hours.

Scout Fundraiser Yard Sale

In June we decided to hold a fundraiser for the scouts to raise some money for summer camps. We asked the ward members to donate anything they had and we went around and collected it from their porches. It was good for them to get rid of their unwanted stuff/junk, and it was good for us to be able to serve and help them to get rid of it. We completely filled up my garage with about everything you can imagine. We held the yard sale on a Friday night and the next Saturday and were able to get rid of quite a bit of stuff. Because of the amount of stuff that was left over we decided to hold it again the next weekend. I was fortunate (or not) to miss out on both of the weekends of the yard sales. I had a relay race the first weekend and was gone to scout camp with the Priests the second weekend. The other leaders did a great job though and overall we made about $1,500. Not too bad! I made three trips with my car full of leftover stuff to drop off at DI, and then have seven computer monitors that weren't sold and 12 huge garbage bags of clothes. I donated the clothes to a hispanic ward close by but still need to get rid of the computer monitors. Did you know DI won't take them and you have to pay the dump to take them as well? Our Bishop is the IT boss at Stores Online so he is going to take them and have them picked up to be recycled.

We have a collection of random pictures of our little bugs and thought we would just throw them into a blog entry for you all to enjoy. Most don't need captions. They are getting so big and Madolyn looks so old and mature in some of these pictures. Avery is such a ray of sunshine. This is our little brag blog entry on how cute our girls are!
