Visit from Great Grandma and Grandpa Yee-May '10

In May, Dawn's grandparents came to visit us and also to see Kristin's new house. (Dawn's sister) It was the first time they had come over to visit us here at our house, and they loved spending time with our little ones. They came bearing gifts, which Madolyn especially loved. They took us all out to dinner, and stayed to watch an NBA playoff game. It was great to have them here with us. It could have only been better had the Suns beat the Lakers, right Grandma?
This is Madolyn opening her baby doll from Great Grandma and Grandpa Yee. She loved it because she could take her clothes and shoes off, put them back on again, and then take them off again. She loves playing dress up with it. Only problem is, when she loses the baby's shoes, that is a sad day. "Shoes, baby? Baby shoes goes? Oh no, baby shoes? More shoes?" She has a weird thing about shoes for her little dolls. She found a doll the other day in our garage that was left after our scout fundraiser yard sale. The doll didn't even come with shoes, but Madolyn was very worried that she didn't have any shoes and couldn't find any. She is a silly girl.

Bedtime stories

Madolyn is really into books and being read to right now. Every night we have to read her atleast three or four books before she'll let us stop so she can go to bed. She has quite a little bedtime routine going on now. She runs and puts on her jammies and then asks for a "purple" which is her purple grape vitamin/fluoride tablet. She asks for some "wazza" (water) and then runs to the bathroom to brush her teeth. She grabs her stool and puts it up to the sink, grabs her toothbrush and asks for toothpaste so she can brush her "eeth". We let her brush until the count of 10 and then we finish for her. She then runs to her bed saying "pray" and falls/dives to her knees and buries her head on the mattress so you can pray with her. She then jumps up after saying "amen" and says "book?" After about three or four books, we tell her that's enough and says "mores" which means she wants to be sang to. She only has a few songs she lets us sing to her; Away in a manger, I am a child of God, I love to see the temple, and When I am baptized. If you try any others she'll say, "No no no. Shhhh." as she puts her finger up to your lips. After singing each one of these songs a few times, she'll sometimes let you go. If not, she'll just keep saying "mores" until she has been sung to enough. Lately, Daddy's singing isn't enough for her, so after a few songs she'll a blow me a kiss, which means she has had enough and wants you to leave, and then she asks me for Mommy. On that note, she also only lets Mommy sing "apples and nanas" and the "abc's". I have to agree that Dawn does sing better than me...
So that is Madolyn's little routine that she does every night.

Avery dress up time

Madolyn has moments when she loves being a big sister and dressing up Avery. Madolyn is really in to hats. At times she requires everyone in the house to be wearing one. She also loves to give all sorts of toys to Avery to keep her happy. Avery loves any attention she gets from Madolyn. They are such funny girls.

Air time!

Madolyn loves being thrown in the air. I'm just preparing her for her mad basketball skills that I'm sure will be coming within the next year or so...right?

Feeding the ducks-April 17, '10

Getting ready to go out for a walk along the Provo River to feed the ducks. Madolyn loves looking at books and magazines. She easily reads at a 2 year old level...

It didn't take long for the ducks to figure out we had some bread and we were there to feed them.

Here ducky ducky!

Her duck call worked!

Getting a ride on Daddy's shoulders while sportin' his hat.We found a nice horse in a pasture along the trail. Dawn was impressed by my horse whispering skills to get him to come over so we could feed and pet him.
Mommy and Madolyn on the trail. Avery pretty much slept through the whole adventure.

Heading up the trail with girls.

Whenever another person would come down the trial and say hi to Madolyn, she would get shy and want Daddy to hold her. Pretty mountains in the background by the way...

Madolyn loves to help push the stroller. Actually, she doesn't want to just help, she wants to do it until she runs it off the trail or gets it stuck on something. "No Mommy, I go."
Avery woke up long enough to take our picture. Thank goodness Daddy has long arms...

Since Avery slept through our whole adventure which meant there were no pictures of her, we figured we better throw this picture of her in of her hanging out in her towel after her bath that day.

Our little Avery bug

This is Avery's first rice cereal meal back in April. As you can see from her face, she loved it...or not.
I had to include this picture of Dawn with Avery cause I love it!

Hanging out with Dad

It's been a while since we last made an entry, so we are going to just go forward from where we left off on.
Avery loves to lean back and get tickled by Daddy nibbling on her shoulders.

She has gotten into a little blowing thing lately. She just blows her lips while sitting there or she likes to blow on your arm.

Look at how cute our little bug is. She still sports the bib due to her drooling/teething phase.

Madolyn loves playing blocks, and Avery loves sucking on them.

We're so glad when Daddy comes home, glad as we can be....
