Today was a day on the open sea as we headed towards Alaska. We started off our day by eating breakfast and checking out the ship. It was foggy, cold, and windy. Grandpa and Grandma Yee love dancing so we would go down to the dance floor with them for a country dance session before lunch, and then a beginner's ballroom lesson after lunch. For the in-between time we would play games or walk around the ship.

Travis and I decided to get in a little golf before country dancing. This was a tough course with really fast greens.
We all got lined up for some country dance instruction.
Even Madolyn got into it as long as I was holding her. She was scared of all the "guys", that is what she calls strangers.

I woke up early to take some pictures of the sunrise, and this is what it was.
Here is a glacier reaching its finger down to the bay.
I don't think you could fit one more pine tree on that chunk of island.
We had all sorts of icebergs float by on our way towards Juneau. They were the prettiest blue color.

There were very few times we saw land without being covered in trees. Here is photo proof of that.

The terrain up there is awesome.
Welcome to Juneau! It was a city carved out of the trees and mountain. The trees came right down to the city and the locals say they see bears and all sorts of wildlife right there in town. The low clouds and fog on the mountain made it look really cool.

Mason, Travis, and even Uncle Gerald hung out with us in Juneau. This is one of the few breaks in the rain.

Madolyn was so tired she slept all the way from the city on the bus and onto the cruise ship into her bed.

The rain really started to come down once we got in the bus.
This bald eagle was doing some fishing from the bank. Come to find out, they don't do the dramatic swoop into the water to scoop out the fish everytime. Our tour guide told us that during the salmon spawn, they will just sit on the bank and hop on the fish and pull it out.

Due to our group being so big and having a hard time getting everyone together for one picture, it took us three times to get all of us in at least one picture.
You can just see the tip of the glacier from the ground. The thing is miles wide and miles long on top.

We actually got to touch a piece of the glacier. They told us that the glacial ice is hundreds of times denser than regular ice.
