Catch up March-April 2011

Alright, here is another long catch-up post spanning a couple of months in the Spring of 2011. It gets us through the end of February to the middle of April. As you can tell in the first picture, we have lots of fun at the Peterson household.
The little girlies went through a phase of wanting to ride Daddy like a horse every chance they could get. Unfortunately for them, Daddy wears out a lot quicker than a real horse. Anyway, here we are, horsing around. Gotta love Madolyn doing her little cross-eyed deal.

Here is proof that Avery really does have some hair. It is blonde and wispy, but it is there. And it makes for a killer mohawk.
I took the Young Men on our annual ice fishing adventure to Scofield in the beginning of March. We all caught some fish and had a nice dutch oven stew lunch.
Every night we read two books before going to bed. It used to be more than that, but her books became longer and with more words, so we had to set a limit. Most of the time she sits on my lap, but sometimes she likes to look over my shoulder instead, especially when Avery is reading with us.

Our two little happy bugs.
HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY MADOLYN!! March 24th, 2011 She actually got that hat when she turned one, but since it is a birthday hat, she wore it anyway. She was so excited to have her birthday although she wasn't entirely sure what it meant, other than she now was three and had to hold up three fingers when asked how old she was. She was spoiled again and got some really fun toys.
Madolyn loves doing her ABC's on the computer, so we got her her own little Leap Frog laptop. She started out with ABC flashcards over a year ago and then moved up to saying them as she typed them on the computer. Now on her Leap Frog she can type them and it says a word that starts with that letter. She really is a smart little thing. It really helped Mom as well cause now when she gets up, she goes and plays on this instead of waking Mom up to turn on the computer for her.
Daddy and Avery watching Madolyn open her gifts. We got Avery a little dolly as well so she didn't feel left out.
Grandma and Grandpa Yee gave Madolyn a little backpack that she loves. She puts her little toys in it and packs it around everywhere. Gotta love Avery being silly in the background.
Here she is filling it full of toys.
Mom spent countless hours being inspired by the Cake Boss on tv and it seems like it has paid off. Isn't Dawn clever? Madolyn loved her princess cake.
We really went all out with the decorations in giving out hats and party favors. Gotta love the dollar stores.
Grandpa and Grandma Peterson came over, as well as Aunts Amanda and Cami to celebrate the birthday girl.

Madolyn loved opening her presents.
She even got a new soccer ball. She loves to run around in the backyard and kick it. She is a good little kicker.
Here's Grandpa being silly.
Our Aunts are so fun.
Not much we can say about this one. Now you know where Madolyn gets her cross-eyed photogenic pictures from.
Grandma and Aunt Amanda with their pretty princess hair extensions.
Not much to say about this picture.
She loved her cake. Mom is the best!!

Avery is such a little girly girl. She loves to wear necklaces and dress up any chance she gets.
She has now learned to smile on demand as well. It makes for some really cute pictures.
Looks like we have a little sleepy bug snuggling with her baby on Mommy's bed.
Avery really likes to get her fingers clipped or painted. She holds really still for it.
Here she is explaining that Mom just clipped this fingernail right here.
Kate and her boys were down for my birthday and gave me this really nice candybar poster. It was great. The little boys were funny cause they asked for the candy back after they gave it to me.
Here we all are together.
What a better way to celebrate then to eat angel food cake with whipped cream and strawberries?

Hanging out with Dad.
She gets that tongue from Aunt Cami. She sure loves playing with Aunt Amanda though.
Madolyn is in that stage where she likes to look at herself in the mirror. Mommy dressed her up really cute and Madolyn couldn't help but admire herself.
She is pretty stinking cute though.

Catch up part 1

Yeah, yeah, we know. We are horrible bloggers. So, in an effort to keep mutiny to a minimum, we have decided to do some 'catch up' blogs. These will consist of pictures of the happenings of the last 6 or so months since we last blogged. Lots has happened since then, and our little girls have grown quite a bit. So here we go....

Hanging out with Aunt Cami and Grandpa.

In January, Daddy decided to take the little ones sledding. This is us getting ready for the adventure.

Aunt Rachel came to Utah to visit for New Year's. We all partied at Aunt Kristin's house in Woods Cross.

What would a catch up blog be without belated Christmas photos? We headed North to Burley for Christmas. We had a fun time spoiling our little ones and spending time with the fam.

Avery and Madolyn loved playing in their new little pop-up princess tent.

Speaking of princesses...

Every now and again we can catch them actually playing nice with each other.

Aunt Kate made them some tu-tu's that they love dancing in.

Avery found the lotion on Mom's dresser and helped herself to it. I think every kid has a picture like this.

Avery loves to steal Madolyn's panties out of her drawer, take off with them, and stick them on her head. I think she gets this from Dawn's side of the family, right?

We had to take our little ones to go visit Santa in the mall. For Madolyn being as shy as she is, she actually did ok with the Jolly Elf. Avery on the other hand....

Madolyn really wanted to build a snowman one day after breakfast, so Dad hurried and threw on some snow clothes over his suit and built one before running off to work.

It was a Daddy one, and a Madolyn one.

Avery really has a funny personality, as shown in these few pictures.

She loves to dress up and carry a purse and wear bracelets and other jewelry. Such a little girly-girl.

Heaven forbid that one girl gets Daddy all to herself. Most things around here are done two at a time.

Just hangin' out on Madolyn's bed.

This is our happy little Avery bug. Never happier than when her tummy is full.
