Halloween October 2013

Avery and Madolyn have been sooo excited for Halloween this year. Yesterday we baked and decorated Halloween sugar cookies and Tuesday we carved/painted pumpkins, and Monday we make paper pumpkins and they loved doing all the projects and were great working on them. We had to do them each day during Drew's nap so he wouldn't try to climb up and get into everything. They both got up early this morning and went straight to the kitchen where they drew, colored and cut Halloween pictures for us. Then they came in to give them to us. For costumes Avery wanted to be Ariel and Madolyn a pirate princess. Drew didn't get to choose, but he was a blue monster which is fitting for him. They were dressed up all day. Madolyn had a costume parade at school this morning that we went and watched and then a class Halloween party where she played games and made a Halloween house. Avery dressed up first thing this morning as well and wore her costume all morning as she and Drew ran errands with me. For dinner we've kind of made it a tradition to have broccoli soup and bread bowls, and so we continued it this year. After we got cleaned up, Jordan took the kiddles around the neighborhood trick or treating while I passed out candy at home. They came home with full buckets for only being gone a short while. We didn't have a ton of trick or treaters, but a nice amount. The kids loved answering the door when trick or treaters would come by. I think they had a fabulous Halloween!

Daddy and Drew- October 2013

Now that the weather is getting chilly and there's not as much to do outside we've been focusing on getting more of the basement finished. Drew loves to be downstairs to watch and "help" Dad when he's working. Most of the time he just has to stay upstairs with me (which makes him so fussy because he knows Dad is downstairs without him) so I can keep him out of trouble downstairs in the work area, but every once in awhile i'll let him roam and Dad lets him help a little.

Dawn's 30th Birthday- August 29th, 2013

This too is from awhile back, but I thought I better record the day I turned 30! My little bugs helped Dad bake and decorate a cake that was so very colorful. There was probably an inch of sprinkles as the top layer and so needless to say its was a crunchy cake. I love how excited my girls and even Drew now get about holidays and birthdays. Drew runs around saying birthday when anyone mentions the word, or he sees a cake.

Madolyn's First Day of Kindergarten

Madolyn was so excited for Kindergarten to start that a few weeks in advance she made a countdown. When the day finally arrived my friend whose daughter is Madolyn's friend and starting Kindergarten too, and I walked our girls to the bus stop which is just around the corner. At 8:45 the bus arrived and the girls happily hopped on the bus. We then drove to the school to make sure they made it to their class, took pictures and waved good bye when the bell rang. They both have Mrs. Ellsworth. Madolyn LOVES Kindergarten and loves to go everyday. Jordan and Avery usually walk her to the bus in the morning and then the kids and I pick her up from the bus stop at 12:15p.m.

Madolyn and no more training wheels- October 1st, 2013

Well, she finally did it! Madolyn can ride her bike without training wheels thanks to a couple of tries with Dad running beside her. Yay Madolyn!

Except for this one, Madolyn does this with her eyes at least a couple of times a day. I have family that use to do this but she has never seen them do it, it must be in her genes.
