Madolyn's 5th Birthday March 2013

For Madolyn's fifth birthday, she wanted to have a Tangled themed party.  We celebrated it a day early since her birthday fell on a Sunday this year.  Dawn and I stayed up late the night before decorating and getting ready for it.  It even consisted of me holding miles and miles of yellow yarn, or so it seemed, while Dawn braided it for the little girls to decorate and wear in their hair for the party.  Madolyn invited a couple neighbor girls along with Anna, who is our friend's little girl.  They had a great time as you will be able to see by the pictures below.

We woke up to a winter wonderland on March 23rd.  Good thing her party was planned to be inside.

Drew woke up and was excited to help me make some crepes for Madolyn's birthday.  They are the little girls' favorite breakfast.

Madolyn found a book at the library called, "The Balloon Farm".  It was about a farmer who grew balloons.  She told me she wanted to grow some balloons for her birthday.  When she woke up the morning of her birthday, I told her I had planted some balloon seeds the night before and that we should go check to see if any grew.  Sure enough, they did!

Wearing braids wasn't enough for our little girlie girl Avery.  She had to have her princess dress on as well.

Dawn has been hiding her talents apparently.  She looked up a little picture of Flynn Rider and was able to draw it onto this poster.  Pretty dang good job if I say so myself.

Even Drew approved.

Dawn made a great tower out of donuts and an ice cream cone.  It was very creative.

The party started out by each girl decorating their braid.

We then played 'Pin the frying pan on Flynn Rider's nose'.

After that we played a game of 'Find the hidden crown' or hide-and-seek really.

Then we painted the walls, just like Rapunzel in the movie.

Even Aunt Kristin got in on the action.

Madolyn got spoiled with presents.

And then we had cake/donuts.

That next evening we had my parents, Uncle Mitch with a friend, Aunt Kristin, Layten and Matt come over for Madolyn's choice of dinner...hot dogs with french fries.  Quite the feast!  We then opened up more presents for our spoiled little 5 year old.

Madolyn is signed up to play soccer this year so we figured we should get her one of these.

Avery enjoyed the fine art the next morning when she woke up.  We love the nighttime cap she is wearing.
